Staff Development Coordinator

Job Description

Davis Place, a beautiful 5-star, 190 bed, privately owned skilled nursing facility in Danielson CT, is seeking a RN Staff Development Coordinator to join their team of highly skilled professionals. Davis Place is a newly renovated facility with a great managerial support structure and is well known for their outstanding patient care and legendary customer service. The primary purpose of the Staff Development Coordinator is to organize, develop and direct all in-service educational programs throughout Davis Place in accordance with the current federal, state guidelines and regulations. The SDC responsibilities is to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care is always maintained. Staff Development Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Acts as Davis Place resource for quality systems, clinical practice guidelines, specialty programs, regulations and enforcement, and clinical safe business practices. Ensures that employees receive training and education necessary to perform their job responsibilities in accordance with the facility policies. Ensures that documentation for all training is completed in accordance with state, federal and Compliance requirements. Monitors employee performance and take necessary action for compliance issues. Manages Employee Health program. Conducts or coordinates new employee job training and CPR training. Work with the DNS and ensure clinical competency of nursing staff through observed skills evaluation and conducts annual competency assessments for licensed nursing staff and CNAs. Collaborates with leadership and assists in planning, coordinating, and conducting training related to federal, state, local, and company requirements. Oversees nursing assistant education including teaching / managing CNA classes; ensures in-service content meets regulatory requirements and individual needs. Assisting with wound rounds with the wound MD.
Education and Licensure:
Must possess an unencumbered RN licensed in the state of CT. 1 year of supervisory and/or teaching experience required.
