As a Nursery Manager, you will stand at the heart of our large-scale landscape operations, turning acreage into a powerhouse of top-tier living inventory. Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations across propagation, growing, maintenance, and staging of plant material.
• Build and execute production schedules to meet contract timelines and changing client demands.
• Manage comprehensive irrigation, fertilization, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and seasonal care programs.
• Establish, enforce, and continuously upgrade nursery quality standards and specifications. ...
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure plant health, aesthetic appeal, and industry compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve plant health issues promptly, including pests, disease, and nutrient deficiencies.
• Collaborate with project managers to verify that delivered plants match design and project specs.
• Maintain documentation for quality control audits and tracking systems.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast crop needs against upcoming landscape project pipelines.
• Coordinate plant purchases with approved vendors, balancing top quality with cost efficiency.
• Implement and manage accurate tracking systems for real-time inventory control.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate nursery field crews and support personnel.
• Communicate fluently in both English and Spanish to ensure clarity, high productivity, and safety.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and strictly enforce OSHA standards, Worker Protection Standards (WPS), and chemical handling regulations.
• Streamline processes to improve daily workflow, minimize material waste, and boost productivity.
• Manage nursery operational budgets, labor costs, and input expenses.
• Efficiently deploy equipment and physical resources to support large-scale landscape demands.

• Education:

  Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or a related field.

• Certifications:

  Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH), Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, or Certified Landscape Technician (CLT).

• Financial Management:

  Experience managing operational budgets, tracking labor costs, and optimizing material expenses.

• Equipment Operation:

  Hands-on familiarity with commercial nursery machinery, irrigation controllers, and heavy equipment.

Vendor & Procurement Relations:

Established network of reputable plant vendors and experience negotiating wholesale purchasing.

Education:

High School Experience:

4-7 years

Qualifications:

• Bilingual Proficiency:

  Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are required.

• Industry Experience:

  5+ years of progressive leadership experience in nursery operations, commercial horticulture, or large-scale landscape management.
