Acute Care Hospital / Behavioral Health Unit Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Manager to oversee nursing operations within a behavioral health unit. The Nurse Manager will provide clinical leadership, support quality and patient safety, manage staff, and ensure effective delivery of patient-centered behavioral health services. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for the behavioral health nursing unit.
  • Supervise, coach, and support nursing staff to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety practices.
  • Monitor staffing, scheduling, productivity, and daily unit operations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Support assessment, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing monitoring of behavioral health patients.
  • Promote a safe therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Monitor quality indicators, patient outcomes, incidents, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in staff education, orientation, competency assessment, and professional development.
  • Assist with performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and ensure accurate clinical records.
  • Support regulatory and accreditation readiness and other departmental initiatives. Required Qualifications
  • Active Florida RN license or compact RN license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
  • Previous nursing leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and clinical skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN or higher.
  • Previous Behavioral Health Nurse Manager or Nurse Supervisor experience.
  • Experience managing staffing, scheduling, quality improvement, and employee performance.
  • Experience in an acute care behavioral health environment. Benefits
