In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and support clinical staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. You will coordinate staffing, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promote evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for nursing staff on assigned unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care. Coordinate patient flow, staffing assignments, and workload distribution to maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and support optimal clinical outcomes. Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nurses and support staff, modeling evidence-based practice and guiding complex patient care decisions. Oversee adherence to Ohio Health policies, regulatory standards, and professional nursing practice guidelines, including infection control and patient safety protocols. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, interdisciplinary team members, and support services to promote effective communication and coordinated care. Participate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance feedback, and development of nursing staff, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and safety indicators; assist in developing and implementing action plans to improve outcomes. Support and promote staff education, competency validation, and participation in professional development and shared governance activities. Assist in budget awareness, appropriate use of resources, and stewardship of equipment and supplies on the unit. Respond to clinical emergencies, escalated patient or family concerns, and operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when needed.
