DESCRIPTION
The Nurse Manager-Med/Surg has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital within the Acute Care department and their effect on patient care. Utilizes evidence -based practice and recognized nursing standards of practice in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and models of Acute Care nursing care. Provides leadership with consideration of BCHC's mission, value, and purpose, and promotes an atmosphere of respect and encouragement for professional growth for all employees. Also serves as a staff RN and assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care in the Acute Care floor as needed.
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a valid Iowa State licensure as an RN, BSN degree preferred. Must have familiarity with acute care nursing, CMS regulations and strong leadership skills. Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of others. Excellent team player and communication skills required. BLS and ACLS required.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A
minimum of at least 3-5 years of nursing experience with at least one year of supervisory experience required. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in the nursing process.
Salary Range:
$40.00-$56.00
