PM's 3pm-11pm What you will do: Regularly performs duties of professional nurse which includes assessing patients' condition, developing and administrating patient plan of care, documenting care administered, and evaluating patient care outcomes greater than fifty percent of the time. Assists in overseeing and supervising specific unit personnel in order to ensure effective, cost efficient and safe provision of nursing care in accordance with established standards. Coordinates and insures timely patient placement within unit. Authorizes overtime for direct patient care needs. Oversees work flows to ensure timely patient admission and discharge. Works on routine unit-based projects as assigned by the Manager. Oversees staff in planning and implementing delivery of patient care according to identified patient needs, collaborates with the medical staff in communicating and coordinating patient care. Utilizes knowledge and skills of unit and department resource personnel in planning and implementing care and resolving complex patient care problems. Assists in hiring, orienting, training, evaluating the performances of and, when necessary, disciplining department personnel. Provides direction, as necessary, to staff regarding sensitive and/or complex work, related problems, resolves complaints and responds to inquiries regarding department operations.

Baccalaureate Degree or higher in Nursing

•(Incumbents hired after September 2011) Demonstrates problem solving, conflict management, and customer services skills to serve as role model and change agent for corporate and unit based initiatives Preferred Education and/or

Experience:

Previous charge nurse experience Minimum of three years behavioral health experience Required License and/or

Certification:
