Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, specializing in nephrology and metabolic care. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care, support clinical staff, and help oversee daily unit operations. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, implement best practices, and promote safety and compliance. Responsibilities Provide and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for nephrology and metabolic patients in an acute care setting. Perform ongoing assessments, develop and update individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions. Administer medications, manage complex IV therapies, and perform specialized renal and metabolic nursing procedures within scope of practice. Collaborate closely with nephrologists, physicians, advanced practice providers, dietitians, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and families on kidney disease, metabolic disorders, treatment plans, dialysis options, medications, and lifestyle modifications. Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor for nursing staff, supporting skills development and adherence to evidence-based practice. Assist with shift coordination, including prioritizing patient assignments, supporting throughput, and facilitating effective communication and handoffs. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and data reviews to enhance safety, clinical outcomes, and patient experience for nephrology and metabolic populations. Ensure accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record and support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
