Summary The Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assigned nursing unit while ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing to promote quality resident care, clinical excellence, and a positive team environment. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the assigned nursing unit. Supervise and support nursing staff to ensure quality resident care. Monitor resident care plans, clinical documentation, and nursing practices. Assist with staff development, education, and performance coaching. Promote compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to address resident needs. Monitor changes in resident condition and ensure appropriate follow-up. Support infection prevention, quality assurance, and resident safety initiatives. Help create a positive, accountable, and team-focused work environment. Qualifications Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of general, rehabilitative, and restorative nursing practices. Understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care. Previous experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or other healthcare setting required.
