Job Description
The Nursing and Prevention Health Manager, under general direction, chairs, plans, and participates in agency and affiliation leadership teams, committees, and work groups to ensure that clinical standards are met and agency/Public Health mission is carried out. This employee supervises, coaches, mentors, and evaluates program unit leads; promotes staff's management skills, and advises regarding personnel issues; assesses the strengths and weaknesses of clinical programs and operations and develops processes and/or implements best practice models to address weaknesses. The Nursing and Prevention Health Manager provides vital resources to supervisors and staff including fiscal/budget support, equipment, facilities, support services, and information; communicates essential information to internal and external stakeholders, and performs related work activities as required. During a public health emergency, may be required to report for specialized assigned duties or perform emergency response roles, inside or outside Muskegon County.1. Possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Nursing, Public Health or Public Administration; AND Have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in Public or Community Health or related field; OR Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Nursing; AND Have a minimum of four (4) years of work experience in Public or Community Health or related field. 2. Possess and maintain a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. 3. Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
