Position Summary:
3S (CCU) is a complex, 32 bed cardiac/cardiac critical care unit. This unit cares for a highly acute cardiac and surgical patient population.

The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment. What the Cardiac Care Unit Nurse Manager will do: Serves as a member of the organization's nursing leadership team. Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling, staffing and providing 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery, planning, and evaluation of services of one or more clinical areas. Participates in and supports strategic development and outcomes management of nursing clinical areas. Responsible for review and evaluation of operations and services in accordance with business requirements, marketplace trends and technological needs. Provides clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and preeminent quality patient care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and patient care for a nursing unit that is consistent with the ANA Scope of Practice, American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) Nurse Leader/Manager competencies, and American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Standards. Collaborate with and support director and key leaders, groups and stakeholder audiences in the development and implementation of operational plans, goals and objectives. What the Cardiac Care Unit Nurse Manager will need: State of Michigan Registered Nursing license required Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree required. Master's degree in nursing, Business or Health Administration preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years' leadership experience in a related health care setting, five preferred.
