This state-of-the-art center provides advanced specialty and routine care with an emphasis on patient satisfaction and a focus on medical advancement. About this Unit The Pre-Op and PACU departments at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital are fast-paced, high-acuity care areas specializing in the preparation and recovery of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Our department includes three Pre-Op areas and three PACU areas that support both outpatient and inpatient surgical services. In addition, we operate a 14-bed Post-Surgical Care and Observation Unit that provides post-operative care and 24-hour observation for patients who require additional monitoring and recovery before returning home. Team members who thrive in our units are collaborative, adaptable, and patient-focused. Successful candidates demonstrate strong critical thinking, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills while working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical care. This position follows a four-day, 10-hour-per-day schedule, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Schedule adjustments may be required to maintain adequate team coverage. Scope of work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required. Two years of clinical experience, critical care or emergency Required. Surgical experience strongly Preferred. Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital, or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) Preferred. MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required. AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required. AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required. AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required.
