00/Hour DOE Glenwood Retirement Village is seeking a Minnesota-licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Director of Clinical Care in our assisted living community. This position oversees client health and safety through assessments, care planning, service monitoring, staff supervision, training, and competency evaluation. The Director ensures clinical services comply with current regulations, standards, and policies while promoting a positive, professional, team-focused environment.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m
  • 4:30 p.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must be registered and licensed with the State of Minnesota as an RN, and must maintain current unencumbered license with the Board of Nursing. At least 2 year(s) experience in assisted living or in long-term care or public health. Working knowledge of the state requirements. Excellent judgement and decision-making abilities and problem solving skills and the ability to work independently. Flexibility in dealing with changing situations. Ability to use computers and electronic records. Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing. The ability to deal tactfully and use good communication and customer service skills with clients and their families.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must receive a "not disqualified" criminal background result from the Department of Human Services and may not be on the OIG exclusion list. Must be screened for
TB. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise Personnel
  • Interview, train, orientate, evaluate, recognize and disciplines staff as needed.
This includes providing day to day work direction and problem solving as issues or conflicts arise. Continually communicate expectations with staff. Ensure staff complies with online education training. Follow organizational Human Resource policies. Develop and maintain staffing and scheduling systems reflecting quality, cost and appropriateness, based on workload, skills, availability of support services, infection control issues, and safety considerations. Provide regular staff meetings and ongoing employee educational and development opportunities which meet regulatory requirements and increase knowledge. Create and maintain a work environment for employees that is conducive to high productivity and morale. Establish and maintain effective communication systems with employees. Resident Living
  • Create and maintain an environment that achieves high quality care (physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual) of residents and maintain their independence and dignity to the highest degree possible within the Parkview Court continuum.
Works closely with RNs to provide direct care, as needed, and understands the daily clinical goals of each resident. Can fill in on the floor and on-call, as needed. Establish and maintain effective communication systems with all customers. Clinical Management
  • Implement and maintain specific clinical standards for the community.
Follow the steps of the nursing process: Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care based upon regulations and established clinical best practices. Mange and monitor the clinical components of the medical record for completeness and accuracy. Coordinate resident clinical needs with other resident care services both within and outside the facility. Knowledgeable of all federal and state rules and statutes that pertain to the assisted living facilities, interpret changes to the rules, and plans and executes policy and procedural changes to ensure compliance as set forth by the Clinical Consultant. Works closely with the Clinical Consultant to achieve set policy and processes. Financial Management
  • Manage resource allocations in order to achieve or exceed operational goals. Ensure adequate staffing in the community that meets resident care needs and financial goals. Coordinate all aspects of the resident's stay with regard to their payment source. Demonstrate good stewardship of available resources. Communication
  • Use proactive and positive language; use active listening skills; provide constructive feedback; convey information accurately and timely; communicate openly and directly with others. Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with development and oversight of the quality improvement program. Participates in and promotes teamwork. Seek, recommend, and/or implement new methods and means of providing quality service and continuous improvement. Develop Relationships
  • Develop relationships with other service providers, such as physicians, health plans, pharmacies, clinics, hospice providers, therapy services and establish protocols for coordinating their services for our clients receiving our home care service and to ensure smooth transitions for clients who may need hospitalization or a move to a nursing home or another setting.   • Complete other projects as assigned by the Executive Director and Clinical Consultant.
