2 We are currently seeking two experienced Registered Nurses for Med-Surg Supervisor contract opportunities at a well-established hospital in Far Rockaway, NY . This is a great opportunity for an experienced Med-Surg RN with strong clinical and leadership skills who is looking to step into or continue within a supervisory role.
Responsibilities:
Provide clinical and operational supervision for nursing staff within the Medical-Surgical department Support and oversee nursing staff throughout the shift Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance to the nursing team Assist with staffing, patient assignments, workflow, and overall unit operations Ensure nursing care is delivered safely and in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards Promote effective communication and collaboration between nursing staff, physicians, and other departments Assist with resolving patient care concerns and escalating issues when appropriate Support staff development, education, and performance improvement initiatives Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, quality of care, and positive patient outcomes
Qualifications:
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required Current BLS certification required Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience required Prior charge nurse, supervisory, leadership, or management experience strongly preferred Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills Ability to effectively lead and support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital environment BSN preferred
Position Details:
Full-time, 40 hours per week 13-week contract Potential for extension $89.66 per hour Specific shift and schedule will be discussed during the interview process
Start Date:
Target start date is September 21, 2026 . Candidates who are available to begin sooner may be considered for an earlier start date. Two positions are currently available.
