Infection Prevention Officer / Wound Nurse - RN Brewster Parke Senior Living Community is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as our Infection Prevention Officer / Wound Nurse . This is an important clinical leadership role focused on infection prevention, wound management, resident safety, staff education, and regulatory compliance. What You'll Do As our Infection Prevention Officer / Wound Nurse, you will: Coordinate and complete wound rounds, treatments, weekly wound measurements, skin assessments, and wound tracking. Work closely with wound care providers and physicians to ensure new orders, treatments, documentation, resident consent, and family notifications are completed appropriately. Review nursing documentation and follow up on skin concerns, labs, falls, assessments, behaviors, and other clinical needs. Conduct skin assessment audits and follow up with nursing staff regarding missing or incomplete documentation. Monitor antibiotic use and maintain infection-control tracking and documentation. Review the need for infection-control precautions and ensure appropriate orders and signage are in place. Identify infection trends and provide staff education and in-services when needed. Coordinate resident vaccination programs, including influenza, COVID, and pneumonia vaccinations. Complete infection prevention, quality assurance, and clinical audits. Assist with nursing competencies and staff education. Coordinate and maintain employee TB screening and related documentation. Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacy, wound-care providers, residents, families, nursing leadership, and direct-care staff. Qualifications Current and unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license required Previous experience in infection prevention, wound care, long-term care, or skilled nursing preferred Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills Excellent organization and follow-through Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to educate and support nursing staff Must complete or have completed specialized Infection Preventionist training as required for the position Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with nursing leadership and outside providers Be apPEARently Remarkable At Brewster Parke, being apPEARently Remarkable means seeing what needs to be done and following it through.
