The Charge Nurse will play a pivotal role in overseeing nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.   • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
  • Conduct assessments of patients' health status, including vital signs monitoring and triage.
  • Administer medications and perform procedures such as IV insertion and suturing as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health management.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital setting to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Manage emergency situations effectively, utilizing skills in emergency medicine and behavioral health when necessary.
  • Assist with toddler care when applicable, ensuring age-appropriate interventions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.
  • Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing is required.
  • Previous experience in a charge nurse or leadership role is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills including proficiency in IV insertion, suture techniques, vital signs assessment, and triage protocols.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach patients and families effectively.
  • Ability to lift patients safely and assist with mobility as needed.
  • Experience in emergency medicine or behavioral health is a plus.
  • A passion for providing compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
