Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse, RN for our evening shift (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.) to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Charge Nurse, RN WEW 6p-6a, you will oversee nursing operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision of nursing staff during the evening shift, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies. Oversee medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and other clinical interventions with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Manage patient flow, prioritize urgent cases, and facilitate effective triage to optimize resource utilization. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and hospital policies related to patient privacy and safety. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop comprehensive care plans. Supervise the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and communication. Lead quality assurance initiatives including infection control practices, incident reporting, and adherence to accreditation standards. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice. Extensive critical care experience including ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings preferred. Proven supervisory or nurse management experience leading nursing teams in acute or long-term care environments. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding is advantageous. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring dementia or memory care. Ability to perform physical examinations, vital signs assessment, venipuncture, phlebotomy, and sterile technique procedures confidently. Excellent communication skills for managerial coordination and team leadership; ability to manage complex cases effectively. Knowledge of hospital medicine standards, nursing policy compliance, long-term care regulations, and discharge planning processes. Pay:
$35.00 - $37.50 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week
