Role:
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a nationally ranked and recognized not-for-profit healthcare system, for an Assistant Nurse Manager (Day Shift). With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, you will work alongside the Nurse Manager to provide oversight for patient care and nursing services on your assigned unit. You will promote quality, evidence-based care and patient satisfaction in a fiscally responsive manner. Serving as a clinical resource, lead, and role model for the patient care team, you will facilitate patient flow through the continuum of care and ensure effective multidisciplinary operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
Plan, direct, and coordinate nursing care. Act as a resource and clinical role model to members of the healthcare team. Step in to carry out the responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in their absence. •
Staff Management:
Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and evaluation of staff. Manage staff schedules, authorize scheduling changes, and ensure adequate staffing via scheduling software to meet patient needs. •
Quality & Safety:
Identify issues related to the quality of patient care and develop unit improvement projects within a shared governance model. Ensure continuous regulatory compliance (The Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.). •
Financial Stewardship:
Manage available resources, ensuring unit operations remain within budget. Educate the healthcare team on cost-efficient care and the appropriate use of material resources. •
Professional Development:
Assist in the creation and implementation of educational programs. Support nursing professional development, Magnet initiatives, and Shared Governance by mentoring colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). •
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of acute care clinical experience. •
Skills:
Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and clinical judgment. Deep understanding of patient-centered care, cultural awareness, and multidisciplinary care coordination. •
Licensure & Certifications:
+ Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Pennsylvania. + Active Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) via the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN). • 1+ year of experience in a similar unit with demonstrated leadership and management potential.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
