Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) Corporate Role | Sheridan Healthcare - Wound Care & Falls Monitoring Sheridan Healthcare is seeking a caring, skilled, and dedicated Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) to join our corporate clinical team, focusing on Wound Care and Falls Monitoring across our skilled nursing facilities in Central and Southern Illinois . We are a growing organization and in this vital role, you'll provide hands-on clinical guidance, program oversight, and staff education to strengthen wound care outcomes, reduce falls, and uphold the highest standards of resident safety and regulatory compliance. You'll serve as a trusted resource to facility leadership, driving consistent quality improvement and supporting excellent resident care across multiple communities. Key Responsibilities Monitor and oversee wound care programs, ensuring best practices and accurate documentation. Conduct fall prevention audits, analyze trends, and lead staff education initiatives to reduce incidents. Support facilities with survey readiness, quality assurance, and compliance with CMS regulations. Mentor Directors of Nursing and clinical teams to strengthen leadership effectiveness and performance. Collaborate with corporate and facility leaders to drive quality improvement and regulatory success. Locations & Communities You'll Support This regional role provides guidance and support across several Skilled Nursing Facilities, including: Chrisman, IL Decatur, IL Neoga, IL Washington, IL Herrin, IL Bensenville, IL (Chicagoland area) Candidates must be comfortable with regional travel as part of the role. Qualifications Active RN license (BSN preferred) 5+ years of long-term care experience, including 2+ years in a clinical leadership or consulting role. Proven expertise in wound care and fall prevention programs. Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and survey processes. Comfortable with regional travel throughout Central and Southern Illinois. Strong, proactive communication skills with the ability to build trust, stay highly responsive, and influence positive outcomes through frequent phone, email, and virtual collaboration, recognizing that much of the support is provided remotely rather than on-site.
