Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below: Job Summary The Full-Time Teaching Assistant/Clinical Coordinator provides instructional and operational support to the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Working under the direction of the Director of Associate Degree Nursing and qualified nursing faculty, this position assists with clinical instruction, skills laboratories, simulation experiences, student support, and coordination of clinical education requirements. The Teaching Assistant/Clinical Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the nursing program and clinical agencies to facilitate student clinical placements and ensure completion of all required onboarding, compliance, and documentation. This position functions in a supportive instructional role and does not replace faculty responsibility for curriculum, student evaluation, grading, or program accountability in accordance with the Texas Board of Nursing. Principal Accountabilities Instructional Support Assist qualified nursing faculty in supervising student clinical learning experiences. Support implementation of clinical objectives established by course faculty. Assist students in developing clinical reasoning, psychomotor skills, professional behaviors, and safe patient care practices. Participate in skills laboratories, simulation activities, remediation, and competency validation. Provide supplemental instruction and tutoring for nursing students. Assist faculty with preparation, organization, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instructional materials. Participate in simulation setup, operation, and debriefing support. Clinical Coordination Coordinate student clinical placements with affiliated healthcare agencies. Serve as the primary contact for clinical agency onboarding systems (e.g., My Clinical Exchange, CastleBranch integrations, hospital credentialing systems, etc.). Ensure timely completion and submission of all student and faculty compliance requirements required by clinical agencies. Monitor expiration dates and required documentation for student clinical eligibility. Collaborate with clinical agencies regarding schedules, orientation requirements, roster submissions, badge requests, electronic medical record access, and agency-specific requirements. Maintain clinical contracts, onboarding timelines, and required documentation in collaboration with College administration. Assist with assigning students to clinical groups in collaboration with nursing faculty and the Director. Coordinate clinical orientation activities and agency communications. Student Support Provide guidance regarding clinical expectations and onboarding requirements. Assist students in navigating clinical compliance processes. Monitor student completion of required clinical documentation. Communicate concerns regarding student performance or clinical readiness to supervising faculty. Program Support Collaborate with faculty to improve clinical learning experiences. Participate in faculty meetings and program committees as assigned. Assist with accreditation documentation related to clinical education. Maintain accurate records related to clinical placements and agency requirements. Support program recruitment events, orientation, pinning, and other departmental activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Current unencumbered Texas Registered Nurse license. Minimum Competencies Minimum of two years of nursing practice within the previous four years. Demonstrated clinical expertise appropriate for assigned teaching areas.
