Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to serve as a Charge Nurse within our healthcare facility. As a Charge Nurse, you will oversee daily nursing operations, coordinate patient care activities, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. Duties Supervise caregiving staff during shifts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure optimal patient care delivery. Coordinate patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and clinical documentation in accordance with facility protocols. Oversee medication administration, including injections, IV infusions, and catheter care, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards. Manage emergency situations by implementing airway management techniques, first aid procedures, and acute pain management protocols. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Facilitate communication between interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Assist with discharge planning and client communication to support smooth transitions of care for patients with complex needs such as dementia or developmental disabilities. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or equivalent certification. Demonstrated experience in long-term care settings, skilled nursing facilities, or hospital environments with exposure to medical-surgical or ICU units. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/Epic/Cerner) systems for documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and long-term care regulations. Experience working with geriatric patients and individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease; familiarity with memory care is preferred. Skills in IV insertion, medication administration, specimen collection, and aseptic techniques. Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively while maintaining compassionate patient-centered care.
