Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Smoking Supervisor to oversee the safe and compliant management of smoking areas within our long-term care facility. In this vital role, you will ensure that all smoking activities adhere to strict safety protocols, health regulations, and facility policies. Your leadership will promote a safe environment for residents while maintaining high standards of care and compliance. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team, implement best practices, and contribute to the overall well-being of our community. Duties Supervise daily operations of designated smoking areas, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and facility policies Monitor resident compliance with smoking regulations, providing education on safe practices Enforce infection control procedures related to smoking activities, including proper disposal of cigarette waste Coordinate with nursing staff and management to schedule and document smoking sessions in accordance with care plans Conduct routine inspections of smoking areas for hazards, cleanliness, and proper signage; address any issues promptly Maintain detailed records of smoking activities, incident reports, and safety audits in compliance with healthcare regulations Train staff members on proper supervision techniques, emergency procedures, and infection prevention related to smoking areas Skills Strong understanding of healthcare safety standards, including HIPAA and infection control protocols Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments with elderly or disabled populations Knowledge of medical documentation systems such as EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Excellent managerial communication skills for supervising staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams Ability to enforce policies related to patient care, safety regulations, and facility standards effectively Familiarity with health coaching principles and behavioral health considerations for vulnerable populations Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs is preferred Basic knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory health, medication administration, and safety procedures CNA License is preferred but not required This role is essential in fostering a safe environment where residents can enjoy designated outdoor spaces responsibly. Pay:
