Position Summary:
The RN Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the facility for the night shift. This responsibility includes staff management and the quality of resident care and services. Responsibilities also include staff assignments, planning, direct care and communication with families and physicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the administrator in the development of short- and long-term goals and objectives in collaboration with other direct care departments. Establishes and implements action plans to ensure the attainment of the department's goals and objectives. Effectively collaborates with the medical staff and all departments in planning for the total needs of residents and effective team functioning via assigned committees. Ensures compliance with applicable State and Federal standards and regulations for long-term care by anticipating the agency surveyors' interpretations of regulations, initiating action plans to correct deficiencies in advance of the annual inspections by the VA Dept of Health. Ensures that individual care plans are instituted and updated according to regulatory requirements. Develops work assignments and schedules to ensure staffing levels are adequate to provide a high level of care. Maintains and promotes high standards of professional nursing and long-term care in accordance with ANA, DOH, OSHA and CMS standards of nursing care. Implements appropriate action to eliminate, correct, or reduce identified problems regarding nursing care operations.
QUALIFICATIONS 3-5
years' experience in Long Term Care required. 1-3 years previous supervisory experience in long term care preferred. Knowledge of clinical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long term care. EEOC We're an equal opportunity employer.
