Job Description
A Nurse Manager works in concert with the Director of Nursing and other nursing leaders to develop departmental goals that are consistent with the AMC Mission and Vision and are relevant to the overall goals of the organization. Activities are consistent with the six aims for improving health as identified by the Committee on the Quality of Health Care in America; these support health care that is safe, timely, patient-centered, effective, efficient, and equitable. A Nurse Manager supervises and directs nursing care and related activities of a specific unit and assists with staffing and scheduling, patient and staff safety, supply management, budget, education of personnel and fulfills administrative duties. Licensed as an RN in the state of Wisconsin. A Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred. Minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting; management/supervisory experience preferred. Must be able to read and comprehend written materials of a complex level such as contracts, government regulations and other agency requirements written in English. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing including the ability to make effective group presentations in English. Must be able to comprehend and make mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and statistical applications. Understands and effectively uses Microsoft Office, HRIS system, and clinical documentation systems pertinent to role. Effectively uses internet resources to enhance role.
