Job Description
The RN/Charge nurse functions as a clinical expert and mentors and supports the planning and development of patient care in the Birthing Center area. In collaboration with the Inpatient leadership team, will oversee and/or facilitate the patient care delivery model, patient care processes, department policies/procedures, department orientation, competency validation and staff development programs to ensure operations function at maximum levels of efficiency and exceed patient expectations. Serves as a leader and role model for and is an active participant in organizational and nursing department decision-making. The RN/Charge Nurse practices in accordance with the DCMC Mission; Policies /Procedures; Standards of Practice/Care; the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice; and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. The charge nurse has the responsibility for directing and assigning work.
Education Required :
Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN required.
Related Years of Experience Required:
A minimum of three (3) years of clinical specialized OB experience is required. Work experience providing direct patient care in an acute care setting is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications Required :
Is currently licensed to practice as an RN in Wisconsin; Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
Shift:
Working 36 hours a week, variable. Experience Required 3 year(s): Clinical specialized OB experience required. Experience providing direct patient care in an acute care setting is preferred. Education Required Bachelors or better in Nursing Licenses & Certifications Required
