Job Summary:
Manages, Tracks, and Inventories Human milk. Prepares and packages feedings of human milk and powdered formulas for infants and children. Daily breast milk/formula preparation and distribution; managing breast milk storage and tracking, maintaining the supplies in the Milk Lab, cleaning and storing equipment in the Milk Lab, other duties as assigned.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Uses barcode scanning technology in conjunction with safety policies/procedures to manage, track, and inventory human milk. Follows infection control and environment of care procedures in maintaining Infant nutrition lab. Cleans cribs, isolettes, radiant warmers, and all other equipment according to approved policies. Adheres to Infection Control Standards/spot cleans unit as needed. Answers phones, covers nurses reception desk as needed. Runs errands to the pharmacy, lab, way, as requested. Removes from unit or reports equipment/furniture in need of repair. Reacts promptly and appropriately to emergency situations. Complete daily census sheets indicating formulas prepared. Maintain sanitation of the preparation area. Manage unit supply of Human Breast Milk and prepares feedings for infants in the NICU. Prepares feedings according to standardized recipes as provided by the Registered Dietitian responsible for the nutritional care of the infants. Supports breastfeeding through positive interactions with families and staff. Assist in training other employees in infant feeding preparation and proper handling techniques, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma General or GED General Accredited Program Medical Assisting Preferred Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. BLS-I

Experience in food preparation preferred
