Immediately Job Description Overall Purpose To provide support to the food service activities at assigned location with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to student and adult customers; collecting and recording income produced by school nutrition program; maintaining facilities in a safe and clean condition while complying with local, state, and federal regulations. Essential Functions Prepares and arranges food and beverage items for the purpose of serving them to student and adult customers in an efficient and attractive manner while meeting mandated nutritional requirements and projected meal quantities. Inspects, inventories, and documents food items and supplies for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality, and specifications of orders; projecting and ordering food quantities needed, and/or complying with mandated health standards. Protects the anonymity of students with free and reduced-price benefits. Uses the system's approved procedure for recording income, ticket sales, and participation. Cleans and maintains utensils, equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining sanitary conditions in compliance with current health standards. Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, continuing education, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions and meet mandated training standards. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Requirements High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred. Successful experience in job related area preferred. Physical Requirements Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 50 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Generally, the job requires 5% sitting, 15% squatting/bending/stooping, 35% walking, and 45% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
