Occupational Therapist

Category Therapy - Hospital - OT Job Type Contract Provide expert occupational therapy services in an outpatient hospital setting, focusing on evaluating patients, developing tailored treatment plans, and guiding therapy services to promote functional independence and community reintegration. Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive evaluations and utilize clinical reasoning to create and modify individualized treatment plans aligned with patient goals and physician direction. Delegate and oversee discipline-specific therapy services to ensure cohesive patient care. Develop and implement functional treatment programs that support effective return to daily and community activities. Maintain thorough and timely documentation including goals, functional assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. Educate patients, families, students, and team members to promote optimal therapy outcomes. Participate in student clinical education, providing supervision and evaluations. Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and clinical management collaboration. Uphold ethical standards, professional codes of conduct, and maintain licensure in good standing. Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to safety protocols in all aspects of care delivery.

Qualifications:

Valid Occupational Therapy licensure according to the State Practice Act. Proven experience in outpatient hospital-based occupational therapy. Strong clinical reasoning and patient evaluation skills. Ability to manage and delegate therapy services effectively. Commitment to patient-centered care and safety principles. Excellent documentation and communication skills.
