Building Skills for Life is committed to creating a child-centered, nurturing environment where children can thrive, have fun, and families can find hope and encouragement. In our new clinic in Watertown as well as in our clinic in Old Lyme, we work with clients ages 2-22, who are attending an ABA program or a new accredited therapeutic school located in the same building, as well as private clients. If so, Building Skills for Life has an exciting job opportunity for you! We are currently offering a per diem position for 8-20 hours in Watertown and Old Lyme during and after school hours.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate each child's fine motor skills, sensory integration, cognitive abilities, and functional independence. Develop individualized plans of care to address each child's specific needs. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including sensory integration techniques, primitive reflex integration, handwriting, fine motor, executive functioning, visual motor, and activities to enhance daily living skills. Collaborate with families, caregivers, ABA staff, teachers, and other team members to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to treatment. Monitor and document the child's progress using EMR software and CTSEDS, adjusting treatment plans and IEPs as necessary. Provide consultation to parents, ABA and school staff on strategies to support the child's development. You are expected to work independently with regular supervisory meetings.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. State licensure as a pediatric occupational therapist Experience working with children in a pediatric setting is preferred. Knowledge of sensory integration techniques and their application in occupational therapy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with children, parents, and a multidisciplinary team. Dynamic, compassionate, patient, energetic, creative, enthusiastic, and a genuine passion for working with children and young adults.

Pay:

$45.00 - $65.00 per hour
