Duties Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans targeting areas such as fine motor skills, self-care, sensory integration, and adaptive techniques. Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to promote independence. Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, physical therapists, and other team members to coordinate care plans and ensure integrated support strategies. Support students with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) by providing specialized interventions and behavioral strategies. Document clinical progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) systems and maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Participate in discharge planning and case management to ensure seamless transitions between school levels or post-educational settings. Qualifications Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist with relevant credentials for school-based practice. Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities and special education needs within a school setting. Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy techniques, including pediatric assessments and treatment plan development. Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and evidence-based practices related to pediatric occupational therapy. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders or other disabilities. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, educators, and healthcare teams to facilitate client-centered care. Acute care experience or outpatient clinic experience is a plus; familiarity with home health or skilled nursing facility environments is advantageous.
