Job Description

Encompass Health seeks a full-time Occupational Therapist to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation services for adult patients recovering from illness or injury. In this inpatient setting, you will perform evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to maximize patient independence in daily activities. Responsibilities include patient and family education, accurate documentation, and participation in team conferences. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for adult rehabilitation patients Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve functional independence Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance activities of daily living and mobility Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and adaptive strategies Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge goals Document assessments, progress notes, and outcomes accurately and timely Participate in team meetings and case conferences for coordinated care Adhere to clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards of occupational therapy practice Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Support mentoring and knowledge sharing within the therapy team Required Skills Occupational therapy evaluation and treatment Functional assessment and ADL training Neurologic and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques Therapeutic exercise and activity analysis Documentation and EMR proficiency Interdisciplinary care coordination Patient and family education Discharge planning and safety training Adaptive equipment and assistive technology use Regulatory and clinical compliance knowledge
