Encompass Health in Melbourne, FL seeks an Occupational Therapist to deliver compassionate, evidence-based inpatient rehabilitation care. In this role, you will evaluate patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries, create individualized treatment plans, and guide them in regaining independence in daily activities. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document progress in a clinically advanced, patient-centered environment that supports ongoing learning, specialty training, and career growth. Responsibilities Provide evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation and treatment to adult rehabilitation patients Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and functional goals Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary rehab team to coordinate care Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and adaptive strategies Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge plans in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards Participate in team conferences, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives Mentor and support therapy staff and students as appropriate Required Skills Occupational therapy evaluation Treatment planning and implementation Neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation ADL and functional training Use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Clinical documentation and EMR use Safety and fall-prevention practices Discharge planning and care coordination
