Responsibilities Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' functional abilities and needs. Develop personalized care plans that align with clinical goals, patient preferences, and evidence-based practices. Implement targeted occupational therapy programs to improve ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions. Assist clients with discharge planning by coordinating follow-up services, home modifications, and community resources. Collaborate closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to ensure comprehensive care delivery. Maintain accurate medical documentation and clinical records within electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to confidentiality standards. Support individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder by providing specialized interventions and family education. Provide therapy services across various environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health settings, schools, and early intervention programs. Educate clients and their families on treatment goals, progress updates, and strategies for ongoing support in daily activities and occupational tasks. Participate in evidence-based practice initiatives to continually enhance therapy techniques and client outcomes. Experience Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across diverse age groups—pediatrics through geriatrics—in settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or school environments. Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy including early intervention programs and school-based services. Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs, discharge planning, care plan development, and case management. Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology knowledge, anatomy principles, and clinical documentation standards. Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder or other disabilities requiring specialized occupational therapy interventions. Strong background in implementing occupational therapy assessments and treatment plans tailored to client needs. Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) management for accurate documentation of patient care activities. Prior inpatient experience in acute care or skilled nursing facilities is highly valued; outpatient or home health experience is also beneficial. Ability to communicate effectively with clients of all ages and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care solutions.
