Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapist, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patients' independence and quality of life through tailored therapeutic interventions. This position offers the opportunity to work across diverse settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, sub-acute care facilities, and specialized programs in pediatrics and geriatrics. Duties Assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop personalized treatment plans that promote functional independence. Implement therapeutic activities focusing on improving manual handling skills, mobility, coordination, and strength across various populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, and post-acute care patients. Educate patients and their families on safe weight handling techniques in the workplace and daily life to prevent injury and promote health. Utilize your physiology and anatomy knowledge to evaluate patient progress and modify therapy approaches accordingly. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational health specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries using technical proficiency with medical terminology. Ensure safety standards are upheld by applying CPR certification during emergency situations and adhering to occupational health protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in occupational therapy within clinical settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or sub-acute care environments. Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to rehabilitation practices. Demonstrated expertise in manual handling techniques and weight management in workplace or therapeutic contexts. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards required for accurate record keeping. Certification in CPR is essential; additional certifications in occupational health or pediatrics are advantageous. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric patients, older adults (geriatrics), or individuals requiring post-acute or outpatient care.
