In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement personalized therapy programs to improve patients' functional abilities across diverse settings. Your expertise will help individuals regain independence, enhance their quality of life, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional care in various environments including inpatient, outpatient, post-acute, and specialized clinics. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional needs using specialized evaluation techniques. Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic activities aimed at improving mobility, strength, coordination, and daily living skills. Deliver hands-on therapy interventions utilizing manual handling techniques and applying physiology and anatomy knowledge to optimize recovery outcomes. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety protocols, and occupational health practices to promote ongoing progress. Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to ensure optimal results. Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with medical terminology standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Ensure compliance with safety standards such as CPR certification and workplace weight handling protocols during therapy sessions. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Valid licensure or registration as an Occupational Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in occupational therapy within clinical settings such as home health setting, outpatient clinics, or post-acute care environments. Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to rehabilitation practices. Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation standards for accurate record-keeping. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, and individuals requiring sub-acute or outpatient and home care. Proficiency in manual handling techniques and weight handling procedures in the workplace. Ability to deliver therapy effectively across various settings including clinics and hospitals with inpatient experience preferred. Knowledge of occupational health principles to promote safe work practices during therapy sessions. CPR certification or equivalent emergency response training is required for safety compliance.
