Job Description
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST AT CHILDREN'S THERAPLAY
The PRN OT position works closely with our physical and speech therapists to ensure quality outcomes. Each session consists of time spent in our newly remodeled clinic as well as time spent utilizing the movement of the horse as a treatment tool. Additionally, we utilize animal assisted interventions such as grooming and head leading the miniature horses to target a wide variety of functional goals. This full-time position expected to begin on June 29th, 2026, with an end date yet to be determined, subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.The schedule is as follows:
Tuesdays from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Wednesdays from 9:00am to 6:30pm, Thursdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm, and Fridays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Responsibilities include maintaining a caseload of 31 patients per week and 4 hours of paperwork, totaling 35 hours per week. Cancellations and no-shows will be compensated. You will be part of a collaborative team that continuously strives to improve our skills and education. Monthly you will be provided with a two-hour team meeting receiving education and round tables to discuss complex cases. Pediatric Therapy Services ManagerSUMMARY OF PRIMARY DUTIES & REPSONSBILITIES
The PRN Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating and discharging assigned patients as appropriate and per established policies and procedures; ensuring effective development and application of occupational therapy programs and treatment procedures; ensuring optimal assigned patient scheduling and wait list management, satisfaction and appropriate insurance billing and coding.ESSENTIAL PRIMARY DUTIES FOR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Evaluate, treat, and discharge assigned patients as appropriate. Maintain timely and quality patient documentation in accordance with TherAplay' s best practices. Confer with the entire care team to plan and implement effective care plans. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, conforming to HIPPA privacy regulations. Other duties as assigned.PREREQUISITE SKILLS
Knowledge of Medicaid and private insurance plans. Familiarity with a variety of diagnoses (i.e., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Rare Genetic Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, etc.). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team (PT & ST). Basic computer literacy. Ability to comply with all regulatory standards. Must have working knowledge of the rehabilitation field and therapy professions. Ability to effectively provide customer service to all customers and contacts. Ability to communicate openly, honestly, directly, and effectively with all customers by both written and verbal skills. Ability to incorporate a basic understanding of human behaviors, developmental needs, physical needs, emotional needs, and comfort during all interactions. American Hippotherapy Association Level I and Level II preferred but not required.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
The candidate must have a current or pending Indiana Occupational Therapist license. Pediatric experience is preferred, but not required.REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelors or Master of Occupational Therapy degree from an Occupational Therapy accredited program.CERTIFICATIONS
Maintain current Indiana Occupational Therapy license, CPR/First Aid Certification and maintain professional malpractice insurance.ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
