Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist serving students in a supportive school environment near Lexington, IN. This is a unique 6-week leave coverage assignment beginning mid-October, offering the chance to make a positive impact while experiencing the collaborative spirit of the educational community. Ideal candidates bring experience working in school settings and a genuine passion for empowering students to achieve their highest potential. You'll provide direct therapeutic interventions, assessments, and contribute to student success through individualized education plans.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active OT license in Indiana (or eligibility to obtain) Previous school-based OT experience preferred Solid understanding of child development, sensory processing, and motor skills Adaptability in dynamic school settings Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with educational teams and families Ability to manage time efficiently and maintain accurate documentation Commitment to evidence-based practices
Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to students per IEP and 504 plan requirements Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to student needs Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families Document treatment sessions and progress in compliance with school policies Consult on classroom accommodations and modifications Contribute to team meetings and multidisciplinary planning Provide support and training for staff as needed This assignment offers flexibility, meaningful professional experiences, and the satisfaction of supporting students during a critical time.
