Job Description

Job Summary:
Pediatric Occupational Therapist (Somerset & Russell Springs) We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient rehab team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children of various ages and developmental stages, providing individualized assessments, interventions, and therapy plans to enhance their physical, sensory, cognitive, and social development. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with families, care providers, and other healthcare professionals to promote independence, improve daily living skills, and support children in achieving their fullest potential. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments to evaluate fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and self-care abilities; developing and implementing therapy plans tailored to each child's unique needs; utilizing play-based therapy techniques to engage children in the therapeutic process; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care; and providing support and education to families to foster at-home success. The ideal candidate will be patient, creative, and dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children, ensuring they thrive in both clinical and everyday environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's developmental, motor, sensory, and cognitive skills. Develop individualized therapy plans that address specific goals and objectives. Provide direct one-on-one therapy using evidence-based interventions and activities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, physical therapists, and positive behavior support specialists, to optimize care. Educate and support families with strategies and activities to use at home. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans. Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for children during therapy sessions. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Active Occupational Therapy license in Kentucky. Experience working with children in a clinical, school, or community setting is preferred but not required. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with children, families, and other healthcare professionals. Compassion, patience, and a creative approach to therapy.
