Job Description

Category Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist Job Type Contract This full-time position is for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) working with K-12 students across various ages in a school setting located in Peabody, MA. The role requires onsite presence with a standard work schedule from Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide orientation and mobility instruction to students with visual impairments to enhance their independence. Assess students' individual mobility needs and develop tailored strategies and plans. Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student development. Maintain detailed records and reports related to student progress and programming.
Qualifications:
Active Orientation and Mobility License in Massachusetts. Experience working with children across a wide age range, preferably K-12. Ability and willingness to work onsite daily to meet student needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
Location:
Peabody, Massachusetts Schedule:
Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM) Contract position with the current school year (25/26 SY).
