Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Current and valid Maryland Occupational Therapist license Previous experience in a school-based OT role preferred Comfortable managing a varied pediatric caseload with individualized educational needs Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with special education teams, teachers, and families Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary students, adapting interventions to IEP goals and individual needs Conduct student assessments and create detailed reports to support eligibility and progress Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing fine motor skills, sensory needs, and activities of daily living Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for students Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and professional development as required Travel between assigned school sites within the district according to student needs This contract position provides the flexibility of school-based hours and the opportunity to impact students educational journeys through June 2027.
