An Occupational Therapist helps patients with injuries, illnesses, and disabilities recover, improve, or develop skills needed for everyday activities. Assists people with mobility impairments to move easily around their homes; develops school and workplace settings that are accessible for individuals with physical or mental disabilities. May specialize in certain types of impairments or certain categories of patients.
Clinical Consulting Associates, Inc. (CCA) is seeking a part-time or full-time School-Based Occupational Therapist within a school setting for the 26/27 school year (ongoing annual agreements available thereafter). Independent Contractor (1099) or traditional employment (W2) with benefits is an option.

Responsibilities:
Work with students of various ages and disabilities, e.g. behavioral, emotional, cognitive, developmental, etc. Participate in student IEPs with team members, parents, and/or staff, etc. Engage with students, parents, and staff professionally and authentically Foster and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents Manage time effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining independence
Patient Evaluation:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of a student's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills by reviewing medical history, observing performance of tasks, and interviewing the student and family.
Treatment Planning and Implementation:
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with specific, measurable goals, i.e. activities of daily living, etc.
Interventions may include:
Guiding students through therapeutic activities and exercises to improve motor skills, strength, and coordination. Educating students and/or families on strategies and home programs.
Environmental Modification:
Assess and recommend modifications to the patient's home, school, or workplace to identify potential improvements and ensure accessibility and safety.

Documentation and Collaboration:
Record and document student activities, progress, and outcomes for evaluations (IEPs, etc.) and other team members. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, which can include speech-language pathologists, school social workers, counselors, psychologists, teachers and/or other team members to provide comprehensive care.
Discharge Planning:
Plan for student discharge and ensure a smooth transition by designing and recommending follow-up programs and coordinating of care.
Requirements:
Master's degree (Master of Occupational Therapy or MOT) or Doctoral degree (Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
