This contract role spans from July to May and calls for a dedicated professional ready to travel between multiple schools, working with children and adolescents of all ages. Enjoy the natural beauty of the region, with the majestic White Sands National Park nearby and the vibrant city of El Paso, TX just a short drive away.
Key Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license for New Mexico (NMRLD) required by the start date New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) certification required (can be obtained quickly with prompt action) Open to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) Comfortable supervising COTA(s) as part of your caseload Previous experience in school-based settings is highly valued Flexible, adaptable, and willing to travel between school sites in the area
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy services to a diverse K-12 caseload, providing support for the academic year Travel onsite to multiple schools within the district, ensuring students receive individualized and effective care Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement therapy plans Supervise and support Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as needed Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to district and state guidelines This sought-after school district is known for its collaborative environment, established support systems, and commitment to student success.
