Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing essential occupational therapy services in an engaging educational environment. This opportunity offers two full-time openings to support a district near Hempstead, NY, where you'll collaborate with a dynamic network of educators and other therapists dedicated to empowering student success. This contract position allows you to utilize your expertise while working in a supportive and inspiring school setting.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of New York Previous pediatric or school-based occupational therapy experience strongly preferred Familiarity with IEP development and adherence to educational best practices Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families Ability to manage a caseload independently and flexibly within a school environment Compassion, patience, and a passion for facilitating student growth and participation
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy to students, addressing fine motor, sensory, and self-care goals Assess student needs and document results to develop and implement individualized therapy plans Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of effective, personalized learning strategies Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to optimize student support Maintain accurate records and comply with district and state regulations for therapy services Adapt sessions and therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs and learning styles This is an opportunity to make a real difference in a student's day-to-day life while connecting with dedicated professionals.
