Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing occupational therapy services in a welcoming school district near Huntington Station, NY. This district has immediate openings for two full-time professionals passionate about making a difference in students' lives. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by fostering independence and developing essential skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Active OT license in the state of New York Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings is highly preferred Strong knowledge of IEP process and ability to implement individualized intervention plans Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques for diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to address fine motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills Administer evaluations and interpret results to determine students' needs Develop and update individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals Educate and consult with school staff and families on strategies to support students within the classroom and at home Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, progress notes, and required reports Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights to support student success This contract opportunity allows gifted occupational therapy professionals to cultivate meaningful relationships with students and staff district-wide. The full-time school schedule offers regular hours, allowing for a predictable routine and the chance to see students' growth throughout the academic year.
