Job Summary Under supervision and with direction by a physician, provides direct patient Occupational therapy including evaluation and treatment to patients evaluated at the RFK Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC), a large multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment center serving infants, toddlers, and children with an array of development and related disorders from the Bronx, New York. Incorporates the principles of interdisciplinary treatment of the
RFK CERC
. Provides clinical supervision of graduate student assistants as needed. We meet performance goals established by the Director, RFK CERC for service, teaching and research. Essential Functions To be fully responsible for a caseload of patients including interpreting medical referral; scheduling and evaluating all patients assigned; planning and implementing effective treatment programs ; and providing family training To be responsible for writing initial evaluations, treatment notes, monthly summaries, quarterly reviews and discharge notes on each assigned patient . To keep an accurate count of daily and monthly statistics, completing applicable statistical forms as required by the facility and the Occupational Therapy service. Reports to Pediatric Occupational Supervisor information pertinent to patient treatment requiring recommendations to the physicians and other healthcare professionals. To keep abreast of current occupational therapy theory, procedures, media and literature. Participates in routine clean up and organization of supplies and equipment in the treatment and storage areas Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications MS Occupational Therapy Required Experience with learning disabilities/neurodevelopmental disabilities is preferred.
