Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students from late elementary through high school with diverse occupational therapy needs. This role offers a unique phased schedule: start part-time (1-2 days/week) immediately, then transition to a full-time position (8:00 am-4:00 pm) when a team member goes on maternity leave in October 2026. This assignment is projected to continue through January 31, 2027. As you collaborate with students across a wide range of abilities, you'll utilize your school-based OT expertise to provide essential services, fostering both basic self-help and advanced pre-vocational skills. The current caseload consists of 21 students, with about 30 sessions weekly—most students are scheduled for 1 or 2 sessions each week. Your flexibility will be key, as new IEPs and caseload adjustments may lead to increased sessions.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Current licensure and credentials as an Occupational Therapist (OT) Experience in school-based, healthcare, home health, or teletherapy OT roles Familiarity with IEP-driven therapy and student-centered care planning Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational and documentation skills; all note templates and goal tracking are pre-arranged Passion for working with late elementary to high school students on goals like handwriting, cutting, life skills, shoe tying, and hygiene
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent OT sessions per IEP mandates, following established schedules and treatment plans Monitor progress and adjust interventions to support evolving student goals Support students in developing self-help, daily living, and pre-vocational skills Maintain thorough, timely documentation using provided note sheets Communicate effectively with educators, families, and other service providers Bring your expertise and compassion to a setting where you'll truly impact students' daily lives.
