Job Summary:
Menard Manor is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. This position focuses on helping residents improve or maintain their ability to perform daily living activities, enhance independence, and improve overall quality of life in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to person-centered care, teamwork, and supporting residents through individualized therapy plans.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of an OT (for COTA) in accordance with physician orders and care plans Evaluate residents functional abilities and assist in developing individualized treatment plans Implement therapeutic activities to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and daily living skills Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) training and adaptive techniques Document resident progress, treatment activities, and outcomes accurately and timely Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure coordinated care Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment use Recommend and assist with adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to promote independence Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on resident progress and response to therapy Maintain compliance with all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
For Occupational Therapist (OT): Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in the state Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program CPR certification (or ability to obtain) For Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA): Active COTA certification and state licensure Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program CPR certification (or ability to obtain) Additional Qualifications (Both Roles): Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Schedule:
Full-time position; schedule may include weekdays and occasional weekends based on facility needs
