Key Qualifications and Experience:

Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) required Experience working with students in schools strongly preferred Ability to assess and develop individualized plans based on student needs Strong communication skills with students, families, and educational teams Knowledge of current mobility aids and instructional techniques

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct orientation and mobility assessments for students with visual impairments Develop, implement, and monitor individualized instruction to foster independent travel skills Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support inclusive educational goals Provide training and resources to staff regarding mobility strategies and accommodations Maintain accurate records and progress documentation Adapt instruction to accommodate diverse learning environments
