9683231-53188 Job Description Step into a rewarding, specialized opportunity supporting a young Kindergarten student as a school-based Occupational Therapist. This unique, contract-based assignment allows for incredibly part-time flexibilityworking just 45 minutes per week, scheduled at your convenience between 9:30 am and 2:45 pm. Make a genuine difference in a students life while managing a schedule that works for you. This role focuses on working one-on-one with a non-verbal student who utilizes an AAC device for communication. The child is on the autism spectrum, primarily in a self-contained setting, and faces significant developmental delays, including self-harming behaviors. Your expertise will be crucial in helping this student achieve growth, independence, and improved quality of life within their educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct individualized occupational therapy sessions focused on sensory, motor, and communication goals Collaborate with teachers, aides, and related service providers to create and implement intervention strategies Support the student in accessing learning activities utilizing the AAC device and adaptive approaches Develop and monitor progress on IEP goals, documenting interventions and outcomes Offer recommendations for classroom modifications and self-regulation strategies Guide support staff and family in reinforcing therapeutic techniques
Qualifications:
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Current OT licensure for the state of Wisconsin Knowledge or experience with school-based OT services preferred Experience working with young children on the autism spectrum, particularly non-verbal students Familiarity with AAC devices and adaptive equipment Compassion, creativity, and excellent communication skills If you are looking for a meaningful, flexible role where your clinical experience can have a significant impact, this could be the perfect fit.
