JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist is a full-time in-person position that requires participation in the comprehensive intake and assessment process for youth placed at the Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The MHRS works with the Head of Service to create an individualized service plan for short and long-term goals. Cultivates a working knowledge and relationship with relevant community resources to meet the essential needs of young adults. Works closely with community providers and internal service teams to ensure coordinated and effective services. Provides an intensive array of services and supports, including life skills, basic needs assistance, EPSDT Medi-Cal specialty mental health services, and referral to community resources and mental health services. adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and agency standards pertaining to confidentiality, reporting requirements, and documentation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The MHRS shall be an individual who has a baccalaureate degree and four years of experience in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment. Up to two years of graduate professional education may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis; up to two years of post-associate arts clinical experience may be substituted for the required educational experience in addition to the requirement of four years' experience in a mental health setting. AND Meet one of the following: Bachelor's Degree. or Master's Degree. or LCSW or LMFT in good standing in the State of California. Registered Nurse with current state licensure as a registered nurse and BLS certification required. Pass the Nation Council Licensure Examination or

NCLEX-RN. ALCS

certification. Licensed Vocational Nurse must be currently registered with California Board of Vocational Nursing and be certified to start IV's and Administer medications. Current BLS Certification. Physician D. or D.O degree from an accredited United States medical school. Successful completion of residency and at an accredited healthcare institution. Board certification in primary care or related field from said residency. Current Stale Medical Practitioner License. Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DSP) registration, for prescription writing.

Preferred:

Two year's work experience in a social work or mental health setting. Experience working with at-risk, foster, and/or LGBTQ youth in a diverse community. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Incumbents are required to meet standards set by the

State of California Community Care Licensing:

physical exam and health questionnaire; Tuberculosis screening clearance; Statement of Criminal Convictions; Child Abuse Index Check; and Department of Justice Fingerprint Clearance. Required to possess and maintain a current and valid California driver's License, acceptable DMV record As a condition of continued employment, must complete and accrue 40 hours of in-service training within one (1) year of hire date.
