Provide assistance in the provision of patient care and non-patient related activities to support day-to-day operations of the department.Essential Duties :
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Assist in the provision of therapy interventions under the supervision of a staff PT, PTA, ATC, OT, OTA, or EP. Therapy interventions include but are not limited to: modality assistance; equipment and treatment area set-up and clean up; assistance with exercise programs, ambulation, transfers, wheelchair mobility, mat activities, ADLs activities, and tabletop activities. Communicates verbally with the responsible clinician regarding the patient's feedback related the delegated intervention. Perform and document cleaning and maintenance activities on equipment according to department standards. These include but are not limited to cleaning treatment booths, stocking clean linens, removing dirty linens, disinfecting patient care equipment and performing routine maintenance checks. Monitor inventory and order department supplies, equipment and linens as needed. Maintain inventory of department therapy supplies and generate purchasing requisitions as needed. Performs clerical duties to assist clerical staff including answering phones, scheduling of new patients, directing patients and/or visitors, and daily therapy scheduling. Participates in in-services, staff meetings, continuing education courses and other meetings as requested. Participates in inpatient treatment at Sparrow Ionia Hospital as directed and supervised by the Physical Therapist. Other duties as assigned Job Requirements General Requirements None. Work Experience Prior patient care experience preferred Education High School Diploma or G.E.D. Some college credit in a rehab-related profession preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills- Demonstrate physical ability to lift position and transport physically impaired patients.

- Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in her/his assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of the position.
